Preliminary Results from the 2001 Namibia Population and Housing Census

Last Update: 14 March 2002
Namibia held its second national population and housing census in late 2001, ten years after the first such exercise, in 1991, shortly after the country's independence.  The Preliminary Results of the 2001 Census were released during the second week of March, 2002.  While these results are NOT FINAL and are far from detailed, much of the data may be interesting and useful for various purposes.

Because such statistics are important to health planning and evaluation, the MoHSS Planning Division has adapted the tables released by the National Planning Commission, Central Bureau of Statistics, and is making them available to be viewed on line or to be downloaded (as a package of ZIPped MS Excel files).
