Objective:
The directorate is responsible for providing effective planning,
appropriate management support capability and establish a co-ordinated
and systematic human resource for health development. There are three
division: Policy and Planning; Human Resource Development; National Health Training Centre. The functions of the directorate are:

Supply the planning process for health services with variables inputs.
To furnish indicators and tools for the evaluation of various
programmes at all levels within health system.

Prepare the health development profile, strategic plans, annual
reports, technical reports, mid-term review and quarterly evaluation of
health programmes and projects
- Promote use of research as an important management tool and development of Management Information Systems.
- Serve as a central co-ordinating body for all directorates within the ministry.
- Oversee and co-ordinate health social welfare development aid.
- Coordination of policy formulation
- Ensure and equitable distribution of health resources and adherence to standards and other health legislation.
- Co-ordinate and support the educational development activities within different institutions.
- Collaborate with national and international research institutions and universities.

training programmes for health personnel and promotion of the
development of technical skills
